September 12 — day 134
Camped at mile 2641.7 hiked 24.9 miles today.
It started off as a sunny morning but quickly devolved into overcast with high clouds. The landscape is unique here with steep talus and scree slopes and nearly as steep meadows interspersed with mixed Pine Fir and Larches. It’s stunning. I picked up a couple of packages of Mountain House Teriyaki Chicken dinners left in a hiker bag. They are very good after a diet of almost exclusively Top Ramen.

Camped at mile 2616.8 hiked 24.9 miles today.
It was another gorgeous day of hiking. There were dramatic revealed and hidden by the swirling clouds. Starting to see the turning of the Larches. I was slow today taking pictures and eating berries including thimbleberries, huckleberries, blueberries, and even

Camped at Rainy Pass PCT trailhead mile 2591.9 hiked 19.4 miles today.
I woke up to pee at 5:45. I thought it was the middle of the night it was so dark. Soon after I got back in the tent it started to rain. It feels dreadful waking to rain like that. It was only drizzling as I headed north along with some other

Camped off-trail in Stehekin mile 2572.4 hiked zero miles today.
It was finally a lazy day. I had already done the laundry and showered. It was a long line at the post office. I opened my box which I had packed for myself only weeks before and was so happy to see the booty. There was only a tiny section of food in the “General Store” that I was super happy to have the ramen and tuna packets in my box. I did some tent repair on my soon-to-be-discarded Hexamid. It’s getting to be all patch. I have lots of pin holes that I’ll fix when I get to Seattle.
