Camped mile 2293.3 hiked 24.1 miles today.
It was a day with the most fantastic views while traversing the Goat Rocks. I missed seeing the mountain goats that others had seen. I did see the tracks on the steep scree slopes.
August 26 — day 117
Camped mile 2269.2 hiked 28.3 miles today.
I was up early and was rewarded with spectacular views of Adams close up and the enormous Rainer off in the distance. It was a great day for walking. I camped by a small stream with little frogs.
August 25 — day 116
Camped mile 2240.9 hiked 11.5 miles today.
Had an OK chicken fried steak breakfast at the Station Cafe. Untoasted “toast,” way underdone over-easy eggs, but the chicken fried steak and sausage gravy were quite good. I got to the trailhead driven by a retired Boeing propulsion analyst engineer.
